What is one of the first questions people ask when considering building a tennis court?
For residential tennis courts the International Tennis Federation recommend a Total Playing Area (TPA) of 34.77m long x 17.07m wide.
And just in case you were wondering centre court at Rod Laver Arena is 40.3m long x 20.2m wide.
Where possible a tennis court should be oriented so the sun inconveniences players as little as possible, with a north-south orientation preferred.
Other considerations such as the area available, house or swimming pool locations and the aesthetics of the surrounding environment may determine the tennis courts final location.
If you’ve got the space, the true half court basketball court dimensions are 14m long x 15m wide.
A basketball key on it’s own is a 4.9m wide x 5.8m long box with a half circle (1.8m radius) at the top - total length 7.6m.
The top of the 3-point line is 8.325m from the back of the court.
